Standard Nuclear is fueling America's nuclear renaissance at industrial scale. We are seeking a Waste and Warehouse Manager to lead and execute regulated waste management activities while overseeing warehouse, shipping, receiving, and inventory control operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong regulatory knowledge, operational discipline, and daily engagement in warehouse and field environments. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing both compliance-heavy waste activities and practical material handling and logistics operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct waste characterization activities, including sampling coordination, profile development, and verification of Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC) compliance for approved disposal facilities.
  • Package, label, and prepare waste in accordance with DOE Orders, RCRA, TSCA, DOT regulations, and site-specific procedures.
  • Ensure proper segregation, container selection, labeling, contamination control, and storage practices.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain required waste documentation including waste profiles, shipping papers, manifests, and supporting records to ensure regulatory compliance and traceability.
  • Coordinate and support waste shipments to approved disposal facilities, ensuring proper classification, documentation, and transportation compliance.
  • Interface with Environmental Compliance, Radiological Control, Transportation, Waste Operations, and Project Management personnel to support compliant waste disposition.
  • Identify and report waste-related issues, non-conformances, or regulatory concerns and support corrective actions.
  • Maintain inspection-ready records and support internal and external audits, assessments, and regulatory inspections.
  • Promote adherence to Integrated Safety Management (ISM) principles and site-specific safety programs.

Warehouse & Materials Management:

  • Direct daily shipping and receiving operations, including inspection of inbound materials, documentation verification, and coordination of outbound shipments.
  • Oversee warehouse organization, yard storage, material staging, and housekeeping activities.
  • Ensure inventory materials are safeguarded, properly stored, and managed for their intended purpose.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure alignment with ERP or inventory systems.
  • Coordinate delivery of materials to manufacturing lines in support of production schedules.
  • Work directly with suppliers, procurement, analysts, and operations to support blanket orders, manage lead times, and shift production slots as needed.
  • Coordinate carriers and freight providers to ensure timely and compliant transport of materials.
  • Provide periodic extended service support, including coordination of emergency material requests.

Safety & Operational Discipline:

  • Ensure all waste handling and material management activities are conducted safely and in compliance with regulatory and site procedures.
  • Enforce proper labeling, segregation, and handling requirements for hazardous and radioactive materials.
  • Maintain safe operation of material handling equipment and warehouse systems.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to material flow, waste reduction, and inventory accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Experience managing radioactive and hazardous waste in accordance with RCRA, TSCA, DOE Order 435.1, and DOT regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in industrial warehouse, materials management, shipping, and receiving operations.
  • Working knowledge of freight coordination, carrier management, and hazardous materials shipping requirements.
  • Experience preparing waste manifests, profiles, and regulated shipping documentation.
  • Familiarity with DOE or similarly regulated environments.
  • Experience working in radiological facilities or controlled areas.
  • Proficiency with inventory management or ERP systems.
  • Forklift or material handling certification preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing operational priorities.
