Senior Mechanical Engineer, Production

Job Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, Production, you will play a critical role in the Connected Warfare team at Anduril, which focuses on modernizing command and control systems for U.S. and Allied forces. Your work will contribute to changing the balance of defense capabilities globally.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, analyze, and resolve complex quality issues to improve product performance.
• Own the mechanical definition of one or more production-scale products.
• Collaborate with designers, manufacturing engineers, and production partners.
• Design new components to keep pace with product evolution.
• Implement design for manufacture and assembly feedback.
• Oversee engineering documentation, particularly production drawings.
• Manage the engineering bill of materials for the final product.
• Serve as the mechanical authority for configuration and change management.
• Support qualification campaigns to validate product capabilities.
• Travel to exercises and work with warfighters to collect feedback.

Requirements

• Demonstrated track record of design ownership in a team setting.
• Experience with managing a BOM and drawings in a PLM tool.
• CAD skills and ability to create high-quality engineering drawings.
• High competence with engineering first principles.
• 7+ years of professional mechanical experience.
• B.S. or higher in an engineering field.
• U.S. Person status.
• Experience with complex root cause analysis and implementation of permanent corrective actions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in NX/Teamcenter.
• Past examples of managing products in medium to high-volume production.
• Ownership of a complex bill of materials for an electromechanical product.
• Comfort with change management processes.
• Experience managing multiple configurations of one product.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Active Top Secret Security clearance.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this role is $146,000-$183,000 USD per year. Anduril offers a comprehensive benefits package, including equity grants and top-tier benefits for full-time employees.
