Data Tech Development Manager

Our GCIO organisation plays a critical role for the bank, partnering with businesses to build platforms, systems, and products used by customers daily.

As a Data Tech Development Manager, you will engineer data transformations and analysis for local business requirements, develop batch processing and near real-time/real-time stream processing on-prem or Alicloud, and design architecture for low-latency, high-throughput, auto-scaling applications.

Responsibilities:

• Engineer data transformations and analysis for local business requirements
• Develop batch processing and near real-time/real-time stream processing on-prem or Alicloud
• Design architecture for low-latency, high-throughput, auto-scaling applications
• Implement end-to-end data services, assessing operations and non-functional needs
• Guide developers in implementing technical solutions based on agreed technical design
• Mentor and coach data engineering and SME talent to build a high-performance team
• Manage complex end-to-end functional transformation modules from planning to execution
• Improve platform standards by bringing in new ideas and solutions

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
• Experience in data engineering technology and tools
• Experience with Python/Scala-based implementations for enterprise-wide platforms
• Experience with Ali Cloud, including MaxCompute, Dataworks, Hologres, OSS, and ECS
• Hands-on coding capabilities in distributed computing frameworks like Spark or Flink
• Experience with data modelling methodologies like 3NF or star schema
• Strong knowledge of AliCloud Data services and their application in data engineering
• Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Chinese financial regulators and their technology-related requirements
• Proven success in leading large-scale data platform projects in the finance sector
• Strong project management skills, with experience overseeing cross-functional initiatives
