Security Engineer (Security Operations)

Everlaw is looking for a Security Engineer to join their technical security operations team. The successful candidate will help execute the company's security strategy and protect customer data.

The Security Engineer will be responsible for:

• Supporting the team to drive improvements in vulnerability management, threat detection, and incident response capabilities
• Triaging security events and responding to security incidents
• Strengthening threat detection and response systems
• Developing and refining security processes, procedures, and runbooks
• Managing and tuning AWS security services
• Collaborating with various teams to meet operational security commitments
• Advising other engineers and partners on building a secure platform
• Proactively solving security challenges and fostering a security mindset

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 1-3 years of experience working in a security-focused role
• Experience in handling security events and incidents
• Programming skills in at least one scripting language
• Experience with security tools like vulnerability scanners, HIDS/NIDS, and SIEM/SOAR platforms
• Understanding of the vulnerability lifecycle
• Ability to explain technical concepts without jargon
• Balance between strong protections and enabling people to do their work
