Description
We are seeking a Senior Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical to play a pivotal role in enabling the development and production flow of our critical supply base.
As a key member of our Supply Chain team, you will work closely with internal engineering, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing departments, as well as directly with suppliers to execute effective, creative, and smart supply chain strategies to achieve production goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and managing mechanical fabrication commodities/subcategories to execute supplier production strategies
- Being a force multiplier for the Supply Chain team, demonstrating a strong sense of ownership, proactivity, technical excellence, creativity, self-direction, and courage
- Vetting suppliers' production capabilities, factory layout, facilities, and workforce for inclusion in the Approved Supplier List
- Supporting Supplier Quality Engineers in ensuring suppliers' understanding and adherence to quality criteria
- Bringing up new production tooling and lines, development at supplier sites to ensure materials, processes, and tools meet product performance, quality, and demand requirements
- Expanding supplier capacity and production ramp-up readiness
- Establishing and driving process performance and controls (SPC) reviews at supplier sites
- Identifying and driving product and process improvements, factory layout optimisation at supplier sites to lower part cost, reduce supply risk, eliminate potential defects, and improve cycle time over the product lifecycle
- Supporting the root cause task force at Anduril by working with the Supply Chain team, suppliers, and closing the loop of root cause corrective and preventative actions at supplier sites
Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or a related technical field
- 6+ years of experience in supplier quality and industrialisation within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with mechanical fabrication manufacturing, IPC standards, CAD, and GD&T
- Ability to travel at least 50% of the time
- Ability to relocate to be onsite in Costa Mesa, CA
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or metallurgical/materials engineering, or a related technical field
- Previous experience in defence, aerospace, automotive, high-tech, or another related industry
- Strong understanding of quality systems, standards, and certifications
- Familiarity with developing high-tech products in a high-mix, low-volume environment
- Exposure to working in a fast-paced, start-up environment
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance
