Description

We are seeking a skilled Plumber Pipefitter to join our team at the Lima Engine Plant (LEP).

As a Plumber Pipefitter, you will be paid a top hourly base rate of $44.765, plus applicable shift, overtime, and holiday premiums. The starting rate for this position is $44.565 with pay increases to the top rate upon completion of three consecutive months of employment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working on any assigned schedule, changing shifts, working more than 8 hours per day and/or working overtime
  • Maintaining good attendance
  • Learning and following safety rules and procedures
  • Working in a team environment and treating co-workers with dignity and respect
  • Accepting and following instructions and requests from leadership
  • Understanding and following instructions, both oral or in writing
  • Performing tasks of the trade, standing for extended periods, walking unassisted, working at heights, working overhead including on ladders and platforms, and manipulating tools typical of the trade
  • Reaching, lifting, twisting, bending, and using a PMHV or hilo
  • Perceiving differences in details and prints related to the trade
  • Maneuvering about vehicles, equipment, assembly lines or stations, and about the facility

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a bona fide apprenticeship, or 8 years of previous experience, or a combination of previous work experience and training equivalent to a bona fide apprenticeship program in the trade
  • Knowledge and work experience in blueprint reading and layout, pneumatic, fluid, and steam systems, fabrication of pipe systems, pipe, mechanical gas arc, and plasma cutting, lifting and rigging, and valve installation and repair
  • Successful completion of a job interview, pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check
