At Ford Motor Company, we believe freedom of movement drives human progress. We're seeking a forward-thinking Engineering Manager to join our Product Development team. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead D&R activities for components, systems, and modules in Exterior, Interior, Electrical, Features and Electrification. You will also lead PMT and systems activities in design, engineering, validation, cost, quality, and launch for Exterior, Interior, Electrical, Features and Electrification.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the feature owners for outstanding Ford Performance features and connected services
  • Reviewing system schematics and 2D drawings and performing system and interface design and system analysis
  • Reviewing and finalizing all vehicle electrical schematics, interfacing documents from all component groups and performing compatibility reviews and technical design reviews to achieve Engineering Sign Off
  • Reviewing construction, diagnosis, and issue resolution for electrical breadboarding during the initial prototyping phase and serving as the lead technical person and single point of contact for any and all electrical build issues, module interaction problems, and end of line manufacturing issues

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 10 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation
  • 10 years of experience with each of the following skills:

+ Software delivery and integration using Diagnostic Engineering Tool (DET), Vector CANalyzer, ATI Vision to reflash CAN (Controller Area Network) based ECUs, diagnose vehicle level issues including CAN network communication, sleep/awake, review CAN bus queries, CAN logs and Vehicle specific configuration sheet (VSCS) + Electrical Systems responsibility for development of vehicle level schematics using MS Visio, derived from device transmittals & structure in Siemens Vehicle Software & Electrical Management (VSEM) tool

  • 2 years of experience with each of the following skills:

+ Features development process understanding of JIRA deliverables for Feature development, Feature verification method, design verification method (test execution) via SIL (software in the loop), HIL (Hardware in the loop), EBB (Electrical Breadboard) or Vehicle level testing

  • 1 year of experience with each of the following skills:

+ Body engineering lead design, release and delivery of Body components and systems utilizing CAD, CAE and visualization tools to develop, communicate and validate designs
