Description

We are seeking a Systems Development Engineer - Braking Functions to enhance modern braking functions in exciting customer projects as part of our team.

The transformation towards software-defined vehicles (SDV) is being actively shaped by AVL. In an environment where features like brand-specific driving dynamics are increasingly controlled and continuously developed through Over-the-Air updates (OTA), we offer you the opportunity to work on innovative solutions for leading OEMs.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and specify braking functions such as ESC, ABS, recuperation strategies, and brake blending
  • Create and fine-tune functional architectures within the overall system context (Vehicle Motion Control)
  • Define and manage system and functional requirements (Requirements Engineering)
  • Collaborate closely with software, system, and vehicle teams to integrate functions
  • Conduct verification and validation activities (SiL, HiL, vehicle tests)
  • Consider functional safety (ISO 26262) and legal requirements
  • Manage external development partners and directly coordinate with OEM contacts

Your Profile:

  • Completed degree (university, college of applied sciences, or equivalent) in vehicle engineering, control systems engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in developing braking systems
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle dynamics and control systems engineering
  • Experience with modeling and simulation (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink)
  • Familiarity with systems engineering, ASPICE, and ISO 26262
  • Experience in or willingness to learn about technical leadership and structuring of development processes
  • Team-oriented and strong communication skills in an interdisciplinary development environment
  • Excellent English language skills; German language skills are advantageous
