As a Development Manager (DM) for the FC Ultimate Team, you will help manage a team of Software Engineers to deliver high-quality features for FC within the most played game mode. You will be responsible for managing different project management processes, ensuring timely delivery, and fostering a collaborative and creative environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a development team that primarily consists of Software Engineers
- Hosting daily stand-up meetings and ensuring the team is following procedures for work prioritization
- Overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of the assigned projects
- Managing sprint planning, allocating resources, and ensuring alignment with Production Leads
- Working closely with cross-functional teams and partners, including design, engineering, and QV
- Supporting capacity planning, identifying and communicating any resource constraints or challenges
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders, including delivery of regular status updates
- Anticipating risks, mitigating blockers and providing management escalation where needed
- Identifying team challenges and implementing agile methodologies to optimize workflows and productivity
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 4+ years of Project Management or Project Lead experience with production lifecycles, processes and project planning
- 3+ years of People Management experience
- Bachelor's degree in any number of related fields including Computer Science, Game Development, Business Management
- Experience in a Scrum / Agile software development environment (Jira, Slack, Excel, Google Sheets, and Miro), plus software or tooling automation experience is preferred but not necessary
- Experience working with expansive teams, mediation and conflict resolution
- Comfortable public speaking, talking through solutions and distilling information
- Experience with formal communications, publishing reports or partner-facing documentation is highly recommended
- Proficiency in English both writing and speaking
