Job Description:
- Study existing analog place-and-route configuration frameworks, including YAML-based rule definitions used for:
- Device placement and matching
- Dummy and guard-ring generation
- Grid and routing track extraction
- Foundry PCell interpretation
- Design and prototype AI-assisted workflows for configuration authoring and debugging, such as:
- Syntax and semantic error detection
- Configuration intent explanation in natural language
- Early validation of placement and routing rules
- Investigate natural-language–driven rule generation, translating high-level layout intent into valid configuration rules
- Analyze configuration datasets across multiple process nodes and explore AI-assisted migration strategies
- Build proof-of-concept tooling (scripts, prompts, validation pipelines, or editor integrations)
- Document findings, limitations, and recommendations for long-term integration into production EDA tools
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of physical design on placement and routing
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and work with structured configuration formats (YAML, JSON, XML, etc.)
