Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. As a senior animation engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing technical animation solutions to support networked game mechanics for a fast-paced, action-oriented multiplayer sports game. Your responsibilities will include architecting and implementing animation strategies for time-sensitive gameplay mechanics, working with engineering teams to identify and implement core animation systems and gameplay features, and actively sharing domain knowledge and teaching and mentoring engineers within your team.
You will have 10+ years of experience in software development with a strong C++ focus and proficiency in C#. You will have shipped action games as a key contributor in animation pipelines and associated systems, such as melee combat, sports, or sports adjacent. You will be familiar with runtime inverse-kinematic systems and have experience developing in and debugging multi-threaded/concurrent/simultaneous multiplayer architectures.
You will be a pragmatic approach to problem-solving and have professional experience with Unreal Engine. You will also have experience with Visual Studio and knowledge of the debugging tools and profilers. Bonus experience includes motion matching, using animation as a latency-hiding technique in a multiplayer game, shipping fast-paced multiplayer melee combat games, or similar, and experience with network architecture of MMO games.
