Description
Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Supplier Manufacturing Engineer, Electrical to join its team. The successful candidate will play a key role in enabling development and production flow of Anduril's critical supply base. This is a high-profile, cross-functional position that requires close coordination with internal engineering, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing departments, as well as direct communication with suppliers.
The Senior Supplier Manufacturing Engineer, Electrical will own and manage electrical commodities and subcategories to execute supplier production strategies across Anduril's business lines. They will be a force multiplier for the Supply Chain team and overall commodity strategy, demonstrating strong ownership, proactivity, technical excellence, creativity, self-direction, and courage.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owner and manager of electrical commodities and subcategories to execute supplier production strategies
- Vet suppliers' production capabilities, factory layout, facilities, and workforce for inclusion in the Approved Supplier List
- Support Supply Chain Product Sourcing Engineers, Supply Chain Global Strategic Sourcing Management, and Supplier Quality Engineers in ensuring suppliers understand and adhere to the criteria for part quality
- Own bringing up new production tooling and lines, development at supplier sites to ensure materials, processes, and tools meet product performance, quality, and demand requirements
- Own capacity expansion readiness and production ramp-up at supplier
- Establish and drive process performance and controls reviews at supplier
- Identify and drive product and process improvements, factory layout optimisation at supplier sites to lower part cost, reduce supply risk, eliminate potential defects, and improve cycle time over the product lifecycle
- Support Supplier Quality Engineers with root cause task forces at Anduril by working in tandem with the Supply Chain team, suppliers, and being responsible for closing the loop of root cause corrective and preventative actions at supplier
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or a related technical field
- 6+ years of experience in supplier quality and industrialisation within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with specific category technical expertise, as applicable, electronics manufacturing, SMT processing, GD&T
- Ability to travel at least 50% of the time
- Ability to relocate, if not already local, to be onsite in Costa Mesa, CA
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or a related technical field
- Previous experience in defence, aerospace, automotive, high-tech, or another related industry
- Strong understanding of quality systems, standards, and certifications
- Familiarity with developing high-tech products in a high-mix, low-volume environment
- Exposure to working in a fast-paced, start-up environment
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance
