Description
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist works to develop an innovative and competitive supply base for powertrain, vehicle, and battery development. The role focuses on ensuring speed, quality, and risk reduction across sourcing activities while supporting new business opportunities.
Key responsibilities include identifying and scouting new suppliers in automotive and energy-related sectors, performing technical and economic pre-qualification and supplier assessments, supporting RFQ processes, conducting Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis and cost breakdowns, managing supplier-related risks, collaborating closely with Engineering, Quality, and Project Management teams, developing and maintaining supplier dossiers and benchmarking analyses, running mini RFIs and organizing technical visits to supplier facilities, monitoring supplier performance through monthly dashboards and KPIs, supporting proposal preparation and contributing to new business acquisition, analyzing technical drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with APQP, PPAP, and IATF standards, and continuously improving supplier competitiveness and sourcing efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering, Economics, or a related field, 3–7 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supplier scouting, experience in automotive and/or energy sectors, strong knowledge of powertrain systems, ability to read technical drawings and analyze Bills of Materials (BOM), familiarity with manufacturing processes and quality standards, strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation and risk assessment capabilities, executive-level communication and synthesis skills, proactive, autonomous, and results-oriented mindset, strong cross-functional collaboration skills, proficiency in English, and willingness to travel.
