Description

Set a course for adventure with Princess Cruises! As a Security Officer, you will lead a team of security personnel in monitoring passenger and crew activities, investigating security matters, and maintaining a safe and secure shipboard environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage gangway operations, including access control, screening of personnel, and efficient operations.
  • Coordinate security operations with outside agencies and complete Declarations of Security as required by the ISPS Code.
  • Supervise the setup, calibration, operation, and maintenance of security-related equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with ISPS, Company, and Carnival Corporate Security Standards.
  • Assist the Staff Captain with the efficient operation of the master key system.
  • Oversee training of the security team in 'Security Team' procedures, exercises, drills, and security requirements.
  • Manage authorized visitor access to the ship, including identification, confirmation of business, and issuance of visitor passes.

Staff Development and Management:

  • Deliver role descriptions to team members and communicate clear expectations.
  • Complete performance appraisals that are fair, objective, and accurate measurements.
  • Observe each crewmember's performance and deliver prompt and appropriate correction, improvement, or reinforcement.
  • Identify top performers and mentor them for career advancement or promotion.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Verify that all subordinates are in compliance with USPH, safety, fleet, and environmental regulations.
  • Support the coordination of onboard resources and responses in case of increased sanitation levels.
  • Follow correct timekeeping procedures and review, maintain, and manifest accurate MLC Hours of Rest records.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:

  • Minimum five years security experience required.
  • Law Enforcement and/or related Military, Maritime, or other Government or Private Sector (criminal) investigative experience required.
  • Experience in conducting (criminal) investigations, interviews, report writing, crime scene preservation, etc. required.
