Description
Lush Spa is seeking internal applicants to train and qualify in body massage with a view to a career as a hybrid Lush Spa therapist.
The hybrid role involves working within the spa and displaying knowledge and enthusiasm for the spa project while driving sales and business from the shop floor, spa reception, or elsewhere within the Spa Store.
This advertisement is for a place on the VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Swedish Body Massage qualification course only. Upon completion, you will be required to undertake a hybrid role within the spa store.
Course Outline and Requirements
Earn an internationally recognized Level 3 qualification in Swedish Body Massage, governed by VTCT. Successful candidates will have a deep understanding and passion for Lush Spa treatments and concepts.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete self-study topics, including health and safety, client care and communication, and Swedish Body Massage units
- Participate in theory training online/virtually and practical training onsite in the Lush Spa Training Centre in Poole
- Complete practical assessments and exams
Upcoming Training Schedule
- Self-led theory training: Monday, 7th September
- Teacher-led theory training: Monday, 5th October, Monday - Friday, 9am - 2pm for 3 weeks
- Practical training: Monday, 26th October 2026, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm for 3 weeks
- Compulsory Lush Spa Training: 16th November 2026, Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm for 3/4 weeks
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- At least 3 months' experience working within Lush
- No previous qualifications in massage required, but a keen interest in Anatomy & Physiology is a bonus
- Available for 9 weeks' training
- Embody Lush's five-star standards, customer service, and ethics
- Organized, resourceful, and adaptable
- Basic understanding of IT equipment and ability to submit work online
- Proactive with self-development and learning
- Proven record of punctuality and reliability
- Previous shop-floor or spa roles are a bonus
Cardiff Availability Requirements
- Available at least one weekend day and Fridays
- Work around 1-2 full days a week in the spa, with flexible shifts from shop floor to spa
Extra Information
- Hours: theory training 22.5 hours per week, practical training 37.5+ hours per week
- Homework: unpaid and to be completed in own time
- Accommodation: provided by Lush when training in Poole
- Travel: to and from Poole organized and funded by Lush
- Relocation: packages discussed once a spa contract is offered
