As a Staff Solutions Architect, you'll help prospects and customers understand how GitLab's AI-powered DevSecOps platform can support their technical requirements and business goals across the software development lifecycle.

You'll act as a trusted technical advisor through complex evaluations, guide teams through digital transformation, and connect customer needs back to GitLab's product direction. You'll work closely with Account Executives and cross-functional partners across APJ.

In your first year, you'll focus on successful platform adoption, strong technical evaluations, and building trusted relationships that highlight the value GitLab brings in an AI-driven DevSecOps landscape.

  • Run technical discovery sessions, product demonstrations, and validation activities to define success criteria and accelerate technical validation across the software development lifecycle.
  • Own technical evaluations as the primary point of contact, including proof of concept and proof of value activities, solution design, and workshop delivery that produce documented outcomes and clear next-step decisions.
  • Develop solution architectures that align GitLab capabilities with customer environments, priorities, and operating models to reduce implementation risk and speed time to value.
  • Guide customers on modern software development practices, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, security, and cloud adoption, to improve delivery consistency and security readiness.
  • Build strong relationships with technical practitioners and business stakeholders to strengthen alignment, shorten decision cycles, and support GitLab-based transformation efforts.
  • Create reusable technical examples, best practices, and collateral that improve team effectiveness, reduce time spent recreating customer-facing assets, and inform customer and partner conversations.
  • Provide customer feedback, field insights, and market observations to Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to influence roadmap priorities and strengthen market positioning.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with customers in technical pre-sales, consulting, or similar customer-facing roles.
  • Ability to run technical evaluations such as proofs of concept, proofs of value, workshops, tenders, audits, or value stream assessments.
  • Working knowledge of the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including DevSecOps practices and continuous integration and continuous deployment workflows.
  • Hands-on familiarity with GitLab or similar DevSecOps or software delivery platforms.
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to adapt technical messages for practitioners, technical stakeholders, and senior business stakeholders.
  • Strength in building credibility, listening carefully, and representing customer needs to internal teams.
  • Interest in continuous learning, knowledge exchange, and developing expertise in GitLab, AI, and related cloud technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, self-managed environments, or transferable experience from related technical fields is welcomed.
