International Accounting

Stripe is seeking an experienced financial controller to join its International Accounting team in Singapore. The successful candidate will play a key role in building technical accounting and financial reporting processes, collaborating with various stakeholders, and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Lead financial close processes, including monthly close of US GAAP books and local books
• Own the end-to-end statutory audit process, including financial statement preparation and presentations to the board of directors
• Maintain fluency with US GAAP and IFRS, researching and documenting technical accounting memos
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Tax, Transfer Pricing, and Regulatory Compliance
• Supervise finance outsourcing partners to ensure compliance and filing requirements
• Drive process efficiency through finance transformation initiatives and automation projects
• Prepare regulatory and statistical returns, and stay informed on changes in accounting and tax regulations
• Work closely with the tax team to ensure local entity tax compliance
• Support new product and entity launches, providing accounting technical advice
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

Requirements:

• 8+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 audit background
• Excellent knowledge of accounting systems, such as Oracle
• Experience handling large audits, statutory reporting, and tax compliance
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS
• Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional initiatives
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English
• Qualified accountant with accounting certification, such as ACCA, CA or equivalent
• Degree in Accounting or Finance background

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of or experience in the payments, fintech, or financial services industries
• Accounting experience in a fast-growing tech environment
• Hubble/SQL experience beneficial
