Mechanical Development Engineer

We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Development Engineer to join our team at American Honda Motor Company in Raymond, Ohio. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and performing crash safety related tests, analyzing test and simulation data, and summarizing results.

Job Purpose

As a Mechanical Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting vehicle developments by preparing and performing crash safety related tests, analyzing test and simulation data, and summarizing results via written reports.

Key Accountabilities

• Prepare and perform crash safety related testing for vehicle developments
• Analyze test and simulation data and summarize results
• Develop planning targets and specifications for crash safety performance
• Collaborate with other design engineers
• Communicate test results and analysis through written reports, summaries, and small group meetings
• Develop, calibrate, and validate crash sensing systems and strategies

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• 0-2 years of relevant experience in the crash safety test industry
• Proficiency in CAE tools such as LS-Dyna, ANSA, and Meta-Post
• Familiarity with Catia and Linux OS
• Strong understanding of MS Office applications

Working Conditions

• Willingness to work in a physical testing environment is required
• Execution of physical tests, including component and full-vehicle crash tests
• Overtime work and occasional travel may be required
