Synopsys software engineers are key enablers in the world of Electronic Design Automation (EDA), developing and maintaining software used in chip design, verification and manufacturing. They work on assignments like designing, developing, and troubleshooting software, leveraging the state-of-the-art technologies like AI/ML, GenAI and Cloud.

Designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining photonics design workflows and software modules. Developing and supporting automated and AI-driven photonics simulation and optimization tools. Performing bug verification, release testing, and providing beta support for assigned products. Investigating and resolving issues identified by QA and product support teams. Assessing customer workflows, gathering requirements, and driving the design and prototyping of new methodologies and solutions. Documenting software features, workflow processes, and technical specifications for internal and external audiences.
Enabling the development of advanced photonics solutions that power next-generation technologies. Improving the efficiency and reliability of photonics design workflows for global customers. Accelerating innovation through the integration of AI-driven simulation and optimization tools. Enhancing product quality by contributing to thorough testing, bug resolution, and customer support. Passion for photonics, optics, and software development. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics, with a focus on Photonics or Optics. Experience in photonic device/component design, including optimization and inverse design methodologies. Understanding of the photonics industry and exposure to the full design cycle (simulation, layout, tape-out, testing). Hands-on experience with photonics simulation tools (e.g., Lumerical FDTD/MODE/Multiphysics). Proficiency in Python programming for simulation control, data analysis, and workflow orchestration. Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot or similar) to accelerate coding and workflow development.
