Shift Engineering Supervisor

Help us make a difference as a Shift Engineering Supervisor at our MRF in Edmonton.

We're looking for a hands-on Shift Engineering Supervisor to lead and support a team of multi-skilled technicians at our busy Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Edmonton.

You will be responsible for driving plant performance, reducing downtime, prioritizing engineering activity, and ensuring maintenance work is completed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a shift team of engineers and contractors to maximize plant performance and uptime.
• Prioritize planned and reactive maintenance activities to support operational requirements.
• Carry out fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs across plant and machinery.
• Deliver preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and implement long-term corrective actions.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve reliability and engineering efficiency.
• Ensure all engineering activities are carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
• Support and develop engineering team capability and skill progression.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS system.
• Ensure high standards of housekeeping, engineering practice, and communication through effective shift handovers and reporting.

Requirements

• HNC qualified in Mechanical or Plant Engineering.
• Previous experience supervising engineering teams within an industrial, manufacturing, or processing environment.
• Strong fault finding and problem-solving ability.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.
• Ability to prioritize workloads and perform well in a fast-paced operational environment.
