Description
Anduril Industries is seeking a Payloads Engineer to join the Maneuver Dominance team at their Costa Mesa HQ. The role involves leading mechanical design, analysis, and integration of Anduril payloads into host platforms.
The ideal candidate would be practical, hands-on, and a self-starter. The Payloads Engineer will work closely with program leadership and cross-departments to solve hard problems and change the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Lead or support integration, verification, and validation of weapon systems on Anduril's Unmanned Aircraft Systems platforms
- Develop program plans, estimates, and schedules
- Develop system/architecture designs, perform system-level analysis, and generate requirements
- Troubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements
- Develop and present technical material for reviews and meetings
- Support lab, ground, and flight test events
- Develop/maintain Interface Control Documents, Software Requirement Specifications, Performance Specifications, presentations, and review test plans/procedures
- Coordinate and interface with customers, contractors, and engineering groups assigned to projects
- Support ongoing operation of the weapons systems
- Provide support for proposals/white papers for future efforts or capabilities
- Provide direction to design and technical staff
Requirements:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline
- 9+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree, 7+ years with a master's degree, or 5+ years with a PhD
- Software programming or embedded systems experience (familiarity with C++, MATLAB, Python, PERL scripting, etc.)
- Familiarity with Air-to-Air weapons, MIL-STD-1553, and logical Interface Control Documents
- Experience integrating weapons, payloads, or avionics onto aircraft
- Experience with weapon or tactical datalinks
- Customer-focused with the ability to formulate and implement plans to resolve technical engineering problems
- Ability to travel to support program and test events (up to 25%)
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in NX/Teamcenter
- Experience in Solidworks
- Experience designing mechanical parts and test equipment (CAD)
- Understanding of manufacturing methods
- Experience developing subsystem layouts, performing architectural trade studies, and evaluating vendor performance data
