Description
The goal of this thesis is to scientifically investigate a model-based approach to evaluating the friction behavior of vehicle brakes.
The thesis involves examining the following aspects:
- Which physical quantities are suitable for drawing conclusions about the friction behavior?
- To what extent are filter and observer approaches theoretically suitable?
- What disturbance and influencing factors limit the validity of such procedures?
The thesis includes:
- Research and categorization of the state of the art in friction evaluation and model-based system analysis
- Derivation of a simplified physical model for friction calculation
- Investigation of suitable filter and observer concepts from a control engineering perspective
- Qualitative evaluation of the results using simulation
- Discussion of the findings and derivation of conclusions for possible further development at the conceptual level
The concrete methodological design will be carried out in the course of the work in close coordination with the academic supervisor.
