Description
We are seeking an R&D Engineer II to join our team at Synopsys in Waltham, Massachusetts. As a key player in the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry, you will contribute to the development of software products and supporting systems.
The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives. You will perform moderately complex development activities, including designing, implementing, maintaining, testing, and documenting software modules and sub-systems. Additionally, you will be responsible for moderately complex bug verification, release testing, and beta support for assigned products.
Your responsibilities will also include:
- Researching problems discovered by QA or product support and developing solutions
- Understanding marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria, and competitive issues
- Working under the general supervision of a development manager
To qualify, you will need:
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field of study
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field of study, and two (2) years of experience in a related position
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases for storing and querying application data
- Experience working with AWS, particularly with serverless functions, S3, SQS, and CloudWatch
- Experience working with Docker to build and containerize cloud-native applications in a large-scale software development environment
