Data Center Technician

CoreWeave is seeking a Data Center Technician to join our team in West Chicago, IL. As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the physical infrastructure of our data centers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain data center operations to ensure service availability and reliability
• Conduct hardware and network diagnostics and repairs
• Perform root cause analysis of hardware and software failures
• Train internal teams
• Develop documentation
• Provide technical support to data center teams
• Develop scripts to update server and networking hardware
• Maintain inventory
• Assemble and install equipment
• Perform maintenance of test and tool equipment
• Travel up to 10% of the time to other data center locations as required
• Respond to on-site equipment failures or emergencies within 60 minutes while on scheduled on-call

Requirements

• Computer hardware experience (troubleshooting, assembling)
• Linux Operating System experience
• Ability to regularly transport and position equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
• Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods
• Ability to maneuver in cramped or elevated spaces
• Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills
• Availability to work a flexible schedule within a 24/7 environment
• Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills
• Must be able to prioritize tasks and react quickly to issues
• Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled data center with fluctuating temperatures and variable airflow

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on or education-based experience with computer hardware, data center operations, computer networking, Python, Bash, or other scripting languages
• Experience with Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS
• An Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related field
