Description
We're seeking a Physical Therapist to join our team in Sioux Falls, SD. As a Physical Therapist, you will plan, organize, and deliver physical therapy programs to help clients/patients/residents recover and improve their mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and prevent deformities. You will conduct examinations, evaluations, and interventions for clients/patients/residents affected by injury or disease.
This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, daytime hours, with no holidays or weekends. You will work in our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Spine Center clinic, utilizing the postural restoration approach. You will require postural restoration experience or be willing to receive training.
As a Physical Therapist, you will:
- Utilize tools and techniques to administer physical therapy interventions following safeguards.
- Document client's/patient's/resident's information for evaluation; establish therapeutic plans and modify them if necessary.
- Educate clients/patients/residents and their family members about treatment plans/schedules and self-exercises to be continued at home.
- Demonstrate and incorporate knowledge of current research into daily treatment of clients/patients/residents.
You may treat individuals of all ages with varying diagnoses and disorders. You will demonstrate documentation in accordance with departmental guidelines and meet all regulatory requirements.
You will also participate in activities to promote the department, Good Samaritan Society, and Sanford Health. You will interact with individuals outside of the department, including providers, case managers, third-party payers, public organizations, companies/contractual partners, etc. You may be asked to supervise assistants, aides, and students as they provide client/patient/resident care, treatment, or other services.
Based on facility needs and assigned locations, you may focus on those receiving intervention in the post-acute, long-term care, and home health care environments.
You will obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications, including Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers within the first 60 days of employment.
