Description
The Deployment Systems Technician is responsible for preparing, configuring, testing, and maintaining deployment environments to ensure successful end-to-end system functionality. This role supports hardware, software, networking, and infrastructure components required for operational deployments, demonstrations, and sustainment activities.
The technician works cross-functionally with engineering, TechOps, and logistics teams to ensure systems are fully operational, secure, and properly configured before shipment or mission use.
Key responsibilities include:
- Configuring and bringing servers online to support deployment environments.
- Performing full end-to-end system checkout for deployments, including complete systems and individual components.
- Conducting system administrator–level updates, including BIOS configuration changes (e.g., enabling/disabling Wi-Fi).
- Testing infrastructure components such as power and fiber connectivity to ensure deployment readiness.
- Performing server check-in, reimaging, configuration, and validation.
- Managing software upgrades and downgrades on servers as required for deployments.
The ideal candidate will have 2 years of hands-on IT experience, a basic understanding of computer hardware components and operating systems, familiarity with fundamental networking concepts, strong problem-solving skills, and a keen attention to detail.
