Description
As an Engine Test Engineer specializing in V8 engines at Ford of Canada's Windsor Engine Plant/Essex Engine Plant, you will combine mechanical engineering principles with specialized knowledge of high-performance Internal Combustion Engines (ICE), powertrain dynamics, and high-power data acquisition systems.
The primary responsibilities for the position include:
- Reviewing quality indicators daily, analyzing data to respond to customer concerns
- Tracking concerns, reviewing test results, and documenting improvement actions
- Conducting monthly reviews of critical test point variable trend charts to identify optimization opportunities
- Maintaining test matrices, prioritizing actions, and verifying containment for product changes
- Assisting in root cause analysis of test stand rejects and leading reject resolution meetings
- Providing repair lists and procedures, and troubleshooting test equipment issues
- Maintaining cycle times, supporting product design changes, and handling model updates
- Assisting with calibration of test stand instrumentation and maintaining challenge parts
- Ensuring daily testing meets requirements and monitoring part test status
- Using test stand software to monitor FTT and correlation
- Devising and maintaining repair databases for operators
- Reporting FTT data and top rejects to the Engineering Supervisor
The expected annual salary range for this position is $74,000.00 - $124,000.00, and individuals may be eligible to participate in the Annual Compensation bonus program.
