Electronics Design Engineer

TGR Haas F1 Team, a stalwart of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to join their team in Banbury, UK. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing and developing electronic systems for the team's Formula 1 cars.

Job Summary The Electronics Design Engineer will report to the Head of Electronics and will be responsible for designing and developing electronic systems, including on and off-car harnesses, units, sensors, and other assemblies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics engineering, with experience working in a high-level technology development environment, preferably in motorsport.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electronic systems for Formula 1 cars, including on and off-car harnesses, units, sensors, and other assemblies
• Work closely with the mechanical design office to ensure compliance with FIA, FOM, and supplier requirements
• Generate and support the compilation of installation manuals and associated documentation
• Investigate faults and generate fault reports, working closely with the Senior Electronics Design Engineer, Reliability Engineer, and electronics trackside team
• Assist in the development of mitigation solutions for fault resolutions
• Take an active role in improving on and off-car installations, design standards, and operational processes

Requirements

• University degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
• Multi-year experience of working in state-of-the-art electronics engineering in a high-level technology development environment
• Motorsports experience would be advantageous
• Strong technical background in racing car electronics
• Experience with CAD design packages, such as Catia/3DX, and PCB design packages, such as Altium
• Knowledge of embedded system programming and high-level software languages
