Description
We are seeking an experienced Attribute Engineer to oversee the delivery of Vehicle Harmony in aspects of Light, Sound, and Haptic Feel as we expand our future Ranger and Everest programs. This role will also include working as part of the Customer Acceptance Team and will interface with our Core global teams on process and tools across various aspects of Harmony and Customer Experiences.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Software), Human Factors, Industrial Design, or a related technical discipline, paired with 5+ years of experience in automotive product development or attribute engineering.
Key responsibilities include:
- Communicating targets and working with Engineering and suppliers during product development to deliver vehicles with harmonious lighting, haptics, sound, switch and control feel that create a cohesive and premium customer experience.
- Measuring and assessing in-vehicle control illumination, chimes and acoustic alerts to ensure compliance with legal regulations and subjective customer acceptance.
- Driving the resolution of issues identified during development and launch to robust and acceptable closure, leveraging Customer, Engineering and Quality data while collaborating across Design Studio, Design & Release and Global Core teams.
- Applying Human Centred and Design Thinking principles to empathize with end-users and translate qualitative user research into actionable engineering targets.
- Supporting benchmarking initiatives, competitive assessments, and clinics from pre-program through launch for Experiential work-streams to shape customer experience - evaluating vehicle features, functionality, and sensory harmony (lighting, sound, and haptic feel) to deliver cohesive vehicle behaviours in future products.
- Actively participating in internal and external user research and moderating usability studies for the development of new feature and system proposals.
