Government & Community Relations Specialist

The Government & Community Relations Specialist role at American Honda Motor Company involves overseeing local community relations activities in designated regions. You will build relationships with community stakeholders and government officials, represent Honda at events, evaluate community engagement opportunities, support public policy objectives, and keep company leaders informed about local matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop strong relationships with external community stakeholders, including non-profit organisations, government officials, community leaders, businesses, and industry partners
• Represent Honda externally at local events and meetings with key stakeholders
• Monitor and report on local economic and community developments and issues
• Collaborate with various Honda Business Units on relevant topics, relationships, and policies
• Support local Corporate Affairs engagement event staffing as needed
• Provide site tours to stakeholders
• Represent Honda in public speaking roles at local and state levels
• Monitor and communicate state and local public policy developments that may impact Honda operations or reputation

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
• Five to seven years of experience in Corporate Affairs, Community Relations, Government Relations, or similar work
• Ability to represent Honda professionally, including public speaking
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Understanding of local community and government operations
• Experience in OEM or corporate/trade association settings is advantageous
