Iseries(Java)/Consultant Specialist

Join HSBC and fulfil your potential. As a Consultant Specialist, you will develop and maintain software products in the Core Banking technology stack.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining software products in the Core Banking technology stack.
• Providing support across the end-to-end delivery and run lifecycle.
• Carrying out software development, testing and operational support activities with the ability to move between the technology stacks.
• Working with Ops, Dev, and Test Engineers to ensure operational issues are identified and addressed at all stages of a product or service release / change.
• Keeping up to date and having expertise on current tools, technologies and areas like cyber security and regulations pertaining to aspects like data privacy, consent, data residency.
• Working with GCP services (e.g., GKE, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, Compute Engine) for cloud-native deployments.
• Implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins for build, test, and release automation.
• Deploying, scaling, and monitoring containerized applications using Kubernetes.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Minimum 6 years' experience on engineering and delivering software products.
• Proven hands-on experience on RPG, RPGLE, SQL, CLLE CL OS/400, DB2/400.
• Good to have knowledge of tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, JIRA, Confluence.
• Knowledge of API & Microservices, designing & developing responsive UI components.
• Sound verbal and written communication to interact with global teams.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Experience in fostering a strong engineering culture in an agile and DevOps environment.
• Track record of identifying and implementing opportunities to enable engineers to develop more productively and with high quality.
