As a Senior Product Designer for Okta, you’ll work with a globally distributed design team to apply your craft and expertise on a range of products and services. Our culture provides the opportunity to explore the technologies we’re researching and investing in.
You will:
- Drive and execute an ambitious product design strategy for your team ensuring a meaningful impact on both user experience and business outcomes.
- Bring a systems-thinking lens to the conversation and connect the dots between user insights and business goals to create experiences that keep millions of customers safe every day.
- Drive impact by framing problems and exploring solutions in collaboration with user research, UX writing, product management, engineering, marketing, and data science to deliver best-in-class experiences.
- Design end-to-end flows that involve multiple personas – IT Admin, Security admins, End-user – and consider complex use cases that span the Okta portfolio ensuring that every user of Okta can do their work efficiently while staying secure.
- Ensure a cohesive, responsive experience across all form factors (desktop, mobile web, and dedicated applications), rigorously applying platform-specific design patterns and accessibility standards.
- Perfect the details to design scalable and usable design patterns that drive a lasting impact, ensuring they not only meet a high bar for design quality and efficiency but also enhance efficiency and consistency across the product.
- Regularly present work, concepts, and new ideas to cross-functional team members, adjacent teams, and senior leadership to drive alignment, showcase design impact and influence key product decisions.
- Champion the thoughtful, secure use of AI throughout the design process, including advanced vibe-coding for generative prototyping and efficient cross-functional collaboration.

- You easily move between big picture thinking and being detail-oriented.
- You’re curious and have experience incorporating AI into your design process, including the ability to craft tools, iterate on ideas collaboratively with AI, and document sophisticated prompts for scaled use.
- Evaluate AI-generated outputs for technical accuracy, design system adherence, and ease of use to serve as a necessary quality bar before designs move to production.
- You demonstrate strong expertise in designing responsive, accessible, and inclusive experiences that scale across all device types, from mobile applications to large-scale desktop interfaces.
- You keep user goals at the heart of your solution and can also balance business objectives and engineering considerations.
- You thrive in ambiguous environments and know when to lead versus when to lean on your team members.
- You build and share empathy with people in order to deeply understand them and their needs.
- You are someone who sees design as a partner with PM and Engineering in shaping strategic and operational product and UX outcomes.
- You are comfortable owning all stages of design for multiple teams within a given product area.
- You are passionate about upholding design UX principles.
- You showcase storytelling skills to communicate your design ideas to a variety of stakeholders.
- Your portfolio will show that you've worked on complex and challenging technical projects across all aspects of the design process (generative and evaluative research, discovery, interaction design, information architecture, visual design, etc.).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant work experience as a product designer.
- Proficient in Figma, Miro, Balsamiq and/or similar design tools.
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer or UX Designer, with a portfolio showcasing shipped B2B or enterprise products.
- Can provide a digital portfolio that showcases solid skills across a variety of projects, including work that has been seen and used successfully in actual products.
