Description
Anduril Industries is seeking an Electrical Engineer to aid the technical development of a holistic support system for service, maintenance, deployment, launch, and recovery of the Copperhead family of vehicles.
The Electrical Engineer will work closely with the program leadership and a wide spectrum of cross-departments focused on solving hard problems and changing the trajectory of the industry. This position will be responsible for designing and supporting the integration of various electrical subsystems, supporting testing efforts, and ensuring overall system performance meets the required specifications and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical schematics, power system single line diagrams, system interconnect diagrams, and define wire harnesses that connect electronic equipment within a subsystem and between subsystems.
- Integrate a variety of existing electrical sub-systems to provide novel capability with an eye towards maintaining commonality with other Anduril Maritime systems.
- Design electrical interfaces and enclosures for integration of sensors and peripheral equipment for autonomous systems.
- Troubleshoot issues that span the electrical and software boundaries, with solid skills using both test equipment and basic software debugging tools.
- Develop subsystems for bespoke capabilities.
- Work closely with other electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers to deliver fully functional products.
- Conduct peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews, perform requirements analysis, and plan system verification to ensure compliance with project goals and industry standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 4+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits.
- Experience developing schematics, interconnect diagrams, and wiring harnesses.
- Experience with PCB design including collecting requirements, schematic design, component selection, supervision or completion of layout, bring-up, test, debug, and system integration.
- Familiarity with networking and standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, USB, MODBUS, ProfiNet, etc.
- Competence with test equipment such as multi-meter, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and automation of tests.
- Experience with electro-mechanical and electrical design concepts.
- Experience in design for signal integrity/power integrity.
- Experience in designing and integrating low-power electronics.
- Experience in fieldable system design.
- High-ownership and a bias toward action.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Ability to travel 5%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing electronic circuits and hardware kits.
- Experience designing electrical and power systems for autonomous systems.
- Familiarity with software development processes and tools such as git, Github, JIRA, etc.
- Comfortable in conducting worst-case circuit or uncertainty and fault analysis.
- Experience with high reliability and/or autonomous systems.
- Familiarity with designing for rugged environments.
