Join Twilio as a Senior Environmental Sustainability & ESG Manager. This role involves implementing, operating, and improving the company's environmental sustainability and ESG programs.
Responsibilities
Strategy, Governance, and Leadership
- Develop and maintain the company's environmental sustainability and ESG strategies.
- Benchmark practices against peers to inform refinements or new approaches.
- Oversee Greenhouse Gas (GHG) target setting and implementation pathways.
- Maintain sound ESG governance practices, including climate risk integration into the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) process.
- Develop strategies for internal engagement on climate and ESG initiatives.
ESG Regulatory Compliance and Reporting
- Track and implement environmental and ESG regulations, standards, and frameworks.
- Manage compliance programs and establish new processes where gaps exist.
- Coordinate with Legal, Technical Accounting, and Risk teams for compliance readiness.
- Oversee voluntary reports, such as the annual Impact Report.
- Direct the execution of Climate Risk Assessments and Double Materiality Assessments (DMA).
- Monitor and recommend alignment with third-party reporting frameworks.
- Support internal and external sustainability reporting.
Commercial Alignment and Stakeholder Management
- Develop a strategy for responding to RFPs, customer questionnaires, and inquiries.
- Serve as the ESG SME during contract negotiations.
- Review and approve submissions to ESG rating agencies.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to integrate sustainability considerations into strategic programming.
- Develop targeted strategies to meet stakeholder expectations regarding emerging environmental impacts.
Qualifications
Required
- 8-10+ years of experience in environmental sustainability, climate, or related fields and ESG.
- Demonstrated experience executing sustainability programs.
- Proven experience developing and implementing sustainability initiatives within a global organization.
- Strong understanding of ESG reporting standards, environmental metrics, and SBTi target setting.
- Experience partnering with Legal, Finance, or Compliance functions.
- Experience planning and executing Double Materiality Assessments (DMA) and navigating ESG regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desired
- Experience in the technology sector or high-growth environments.
- Familiarity with climate accounting and environmental data systems.
- Proactive in learning and adapting to new systems, platforms, and emerging technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certifications a plus.
Location and Travel
- This role is remote but not eligible to be hired in CA, CT, NJ, NY, PA, WA.
- Occasional travel may be required for project or team in-person meetings.

Compensation
- Estimated pay ranges: $141,520 - $176,900 (varies by location)
- This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan.
