Description
Champion the molding process flow design and development, equipment specification and cost assessment, create layout, analysis capacity etc.
Develop and co-ordinate plant and equipment layout improvements, moulding process improvements, die change and first off improvements
Co-ordinate and follow up on the smooth introduction of new molding product to the company assist in selecting appropriate suppliers for subcontracted operations
Advise Management of any potential problems and opportunities for improvement
Work in compliance with ISO 14001 / TS16949 standards
Participates in the engineering change (DPCRF) process by designing / updating Process Failure Mode Effects Analyses (PFMEAs) as needed, reviewing all operators instructions, ensuring assembly equipment readiness, packaging requirements are met, and all other Manufacturing Engineering tasks are completed on the ECN Checklist before the change effective date
Maintains regular daily presence on the production floor and provides engineering support to assembly in areas of safety, ergonomic evaluations, methods improvement, procurement and fabrication of necessary equipment to improve/complete any required process additions and/or alterations, and responding to their concerns/suggestions
Consider all aspects of industrial plant engineering when designing and/or implementing process changes
Research, investigate and report manufacturing problems/concerns for improvement of overall plant productivity including process cost reductions, monitoring and devising / implementing corrective actions to minimize process downtimes and rejects
Help provide new project equipment and production man-hour offer
Choose qualified equipment suppliers, over-molding supplier, potential suppliers’ evaluation and position
Manages and follows up on all new program machine, over-molding testing (internal & external)
Develop and follow up over-moulding die
Responsible for specification and sourcing of machine contracts for program
After equipment installation debugging, training operator and maintenance personnel
Control process change and relevant documents of update
Adopt, practice, support and encourage KAIZEN and GEAR activities
Work in a safe and efficient manner
Assist in developing and maintaining standard costs for all products
Perform other duties arranged by department manager
