Description

Anduril Industries is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Space Imaging team. The team is responsible for system architecture definition, trade analyses, and modeling/validating system performance for spaceborne EO/IR systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Define active EO/IR system architectures via detailed trade studies and analyses.
  • Perform radiometric performance modeling, laboratory, ground, and flight testing.
  • Model atmospheric and environmental effects for land, sea, and air targets.
  • Inform system-level architectural trades based on analyses.
  • Lead small teams of engineers from concept ideation through system definition and development.
  • Develop and validate physics-based models of sensor system performance.
  • Derive requirements based on models.
  • Take ownership of prototype sensor system development in a lab environment.
  • Support laboratory-based and field-based experiments and demonstrations.
  • Engage with hardware, software, and mission teams to define, integrate, and deliver high-performance systems.
  • Validate models against laboratory and real-world data.
  • Coordinate and communicate with external and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Model development and validation in domains relevant to remote sensing.
  • Ability to decompose complex systems into functional parts with clear interfaces and requirements.
  • Experience in system design and development from initial concept through test and delivery.
  • Strong laboratory skills and familiarity with opto-electrical test and measurement equipment.
  • Willingness to travel to test sites.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of advanced sensing systems and platforms.
  • Experience in active and passive sensing domains.
  • Familiarity with laser systems and electro-mechanical control systems.
  • Experience with LiDAR/Radar signal processing techniques.
  • Knowledge of signature and scenario modeling/software packages.
  • Space domain experience.
