Description
We are looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our team at Okta, working on a range of products and services with a globally distributed design team.
As a Staff Product Designer, you will lead user experience strategy and execution for our Okta Research & Development (ORD) business unit, focusing on solving every identity use case at work for various types of people and resources.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading a holistic, human-centred approach to design
- Guiding and overseeing UX strategy alongside cross-functional partners
- Designing and facilitating co-creation design workshops
- Crafting user-centred artifacts and end-to-end journeys
- Collaborating with other Okta designers to ensure consistency across interface experiences
- Inspiring teams to think bigger and act smaller
- Advocating, mentoring, and educating on the benefits of design thinking
- Mentoring junior designers and contributing to team-level and design practice improvements
- Working with Design Leadership to define and drive frameworks, contracts, and standards
- Continuously learning from customers and users
- Helping product designers create success metrics
- Presenting work, concepts, and new ideas to cross-functional team members
- Keeping abreast of competitor products and industry trends
We are looking for someone with:
- 8+ years of relevant work experience as a Product Designer or UX Designer
- A portfolio showcasing shipped B2B or enterprise products
- Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or similar design tools
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS/JavaScript
- Experience leading cross-discipline teams and exemplifying leadership
- Passion for solving complex problems and crafting UX principles
- Great collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work in a diverse, globally distributed team
