Director, R&D Finance

Twilio is seeking a strategic, curious, and collaborative Director, R&D Finance. You will serve as the finance partner for our Channel and Engagement Experiences Product teams, driving product investment prioritization and R&D portfolio optimization.

Responsibilities:

• Establish the standard for ROI analysis across R&D; lead business case development for new product launches and feature investments.
• Translate long-term product strategy into a sustainable, repeatable financial framework.
• Partner closely with R&D leadership to assess product performance and evaluate roadmap investments.
• Provide strategic financial insights to guide investment decisions and drive optimal resource allocation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to identify growth levers, optimize margin drivers, and improve structural cost efficiencies.
• Oversee the development of flexible financial models to support ad-hoc analysis and scenario planning.
• Synthesize and communicate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of 3 to 4 financial analysts.

Qualifications:

• 12+ years of FP&A experience in progressive financial roles.
• Strong financial modeling skills, with experience completing product forecasts.
• Experience evaluating product business cases, including customer adoption trends and unit economics.
• Excellent business acumen and ability to influence stakeholders with data-driven insights.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience working with Senior Leadership.
• Proficiency in financial planning tools (Anaplan) and comfort working with large datasets.

Location: Remote - US (not eligible to be hired in CA, CT, NJ, NY, PA, WA)

Compensation: Estimated pay ranges vary by location.

• Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont, or Washington D.C.: $171,200 - $213,900.
• New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $181,200 - $226,500.
• San Francisco Bay area, California: $201,280 - $251,600.
