Description
Mercury is building a banking system that requires architectural coherence, similar to medieval master builders leading construction projects. As Head of Technical Program Management, Banking, you'll oversee multiple workstreams, define the technical program management operating system, and lead the TPM team.
You'll act as the control center for all banking workstreams, including core banking build, credit and lending, customer migration, risk systems, and incident coordination. You'll also own executive-level reporting and build automation and agentic flows to run programs efficiently.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the program for Mercury's bank charter and governance work
- Define the TPM operating system for the banking organization
- Build automation and agentic flows for program efficiency
- Develop executive-level reporting and dashboards
- Pressure-test timelines and estimates with engineering and product leaders
- Build, manage, and develop a team of TPMs
- Drive decisions through ambiguity and clarify ownership
- Operate with auditability and documentation rigor
Ideal candidates have:
- 10+ years of program management, engineering, or product leadership experience
- A technical background, ideally in engineering or technical program management
- Experience in regulated industries, preferably fintech or banking
- A track record of building program management functions or operating systems
- Exceptional communication and cross-functional influence skills
The total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Target new hire base salary ranges are $269,700 - $337,100 USD for US employees in certain areas, $242,700 - $303,400 USD for US employees outside those areas, and CAD 254,900 - 347,800 for Canadian employees.
