Integration Engineer, Professional Services

Job Overview

As an Integration Engineer on Stripe's Professional Services team, you'll work on high-visibility projects, providing technical expertise to help enterprises integrate with Stripe.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute integration engineering projects end-to-end, from architecture to code implementation
• Serve as primary technical point of contact for large users and partners, resolving integration issues and owning escalations
• Lead strategic technical conversations, explaining how Stripe works and managing user expectations
• Collaborate with Sales, Solution Architecture, and Implementation teams to drive user engagement and commercial outcomes
• Provide deep technical support and debugging, inspecting the Stripe codebase and building proof-of-concept integrations
• Lead hands-on keyboard implementations, providing feedback on coding practices and software architecture
• Review and optimise existing user integrations, recommending improvements to performance, reliability, and efficiency
• Build tools and analytics to support user business reviews and operational needs
• Develop reusable processes and shared knowledge for the Professional Services team

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in software engineering or integration engineering
• Ability to write and debug code in languages like Go, Java, C/C++
• Comfortable with code-level debugging and using code as a problem-solving tool
• Strong generalist technical background, including SQL and data structures/algorithms
• Understanding of the payments domain and API security principles
• Ability to lead technical conversations and explain Stripe's products and APIs
• User-first mindset with ability to map business requirements to technical solutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing technical roles like solutions engineering or technical consulting
• Experience mentoring engineers or guiding technical teams through complex implementations
• Demonstrated ability to apply structured methodologies for consistency and repeatability
• Strong technical writing skills, including documenting complex integration guidance
• Track record of navigating and resolving ambiguous technical problems
