The Maneuver Dominance team at Anduril develops operationally relevant, multi-asset autonomy. We focus on making large groups of autonomous systems work effectively together, leveraging existing Anduril drone platforms like Ghost or Altius, and integrating third-party platforms into Anduril's Lattice ecosystem.
As a Staff Robotics Software Engineer, you will lead the delivery of vehicle perception and planning capability integrated into our products. Acting as technical leads, extremely senior individual contributors, and/or as team leads that are also hands-on contributors, you will be responsible for systems analysis, sensor selection and integration, perception architecture and implementation, motion planning, health management, behavior analysis, simulation and test infrastructure, and interfaces with lower- and higher-level systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning customer success through designing and delivering a multi-year, multi-stakeholder software roadmap spanning across multiple teams
- Leveraging internal product and program-specific engineering teams to rapidly deliver capability beyond current platforms
- Partnering with external teams on interfacing requirements between diverse systems and technologies
- Leading teams that architect, design, and implement trusted safe navigation, collision avoidance, and situational awareness systems
- Driving the development and implementation of sensor suites, perception algorithms, planning algorithms, and test fixtures
- Performing high-impact work in architecture and implementation across the whole perception and planning stack
- Utilizing advanced techniques in computer vision, sensor fusion, and machine learning to enhance perception and planning capabilities
- Conducting thorough testing and validation of perception and planning algorithms
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective system integration and testing
- Traveling to co-locate with end-users and/or other teams up to 20% of the time
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field
- 7+ years of experience in C++ and/or Python software development
- Familiarity with autonomous vehicle hardware and sensors
- Demonstrated knowledge of computer vision, sensor fusion, SLAM, motion planning, or machine learning
- Experience in a senior perception or planning role
- Capacity to act as the technical owner for a system
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement robust validation and verification strategies
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with autonomous systems in various domains
- Experience with simulation tools and frameworks
- Knowledge of safety standards and certification processes for autonomous systems
- Familiarity with System Engineering concepts
The salary range for this role is $253,000-$336,000 USD per year. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers. Anduril offers top-tier benefits for full-time employees.
