Service Technician - Transmission Manufacturing Plant Georgia

We are seeking a Service Technician to join our Transmission Manufacturing Plant team in Tallapoosa, Georgia. As a Service Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the maintenance of High Pressure Die Cast Dies, collaborating with other technicians, staff, and team leaders to improve die maintenance and part quality characteristics.

Job Purpose The successful candidate will respond to equipment emergency downtime, troubleshoot root causes, and perform repairs as needed. Additionally, you will support weekend preventive maintenance and repair activities, plant shutdowns, and overtime coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to equipment emergency downtime and troubleshoot root causes
• Perform repairs and support weekend preventive maintenance and repair activities
• Support plant shutdowns and overtime coverage
• Collaborate with the engineering group on short-term and long-term projects
• Document all die-related activities in the equipment system (Maximo)
• Provide training to other die service and associates as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical and/or die mold maintenance
• Welding, machining, hand finishing, and blueprint reading skills
• Basic computer skills and strong decision-making and troubleshooting abilities

Working Conditions

• Work in a production environment with personal protective equipment and lockout requirements
• Exposure to molten aluminum, hydraulic oils, and cutting lubricants
• Hands-on investigation and troubleshooting of product and die issues
• 90% manufacturing lineside activity and 10% office environment
• 10-15 hours of overtime per week
• Possible weekend or off-shift support as necessary
• 5% domestic travel
