Shift Engineering Supervisor

As a Shift Engineering Supervisor at Biffa's Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Edmonton, you will lead and support a team of multi-skilled technicians to drive plant performance, reduce downtime, and ensure maintenance work is completed safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and supervising a shift team of engineers and contractors to maximise plant performance and uptime
• Prioritising planned and reactive maintenance activities to support operational requirements
• Carrying out fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs across plant and machinery
• Delivering preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise downtime
• Supporting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and implementing long-term corrective actions
• Identifying continuous improvement opportunities to improve reliability and engineering efficiency
• Ensuring all engineering activities are carried out safely and in line with company procedures
• Supporting and developing engineering team capability and skill progression
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the CMMS system
• Ensuring high standards of housekeeping, engineering practice, and communication through effective shift handovers and reporting

The successful candidate will have:

• An HNC qualification in Mechanical or Plant Engineering
• Previous experience supervising engineering teams within an industrial, manufacturing, or processing environment
• Strong fault finding and problem solving ability
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding
