Description
As a Senior Electrical Reliability Engineer with Astranis, you will play a critical role in ensuring our spacecraft electronics and systems meet our reliability and availability needs. You'll collaborate with a broad and multidisciplinary engineering team to ensure that our spacecraft will operate reliably over their entire mission duration.
Your responsibilities will include: Collaborating with engineers to ensure reliable spacecraft operation Performing reliability and availability analysis using Reliability Block Diagrams and DFMEA Advising engineers on optimal redundancy architecture Supporting the engineering and production teams with design reviews, failure analysis, and root cause analysis Planning and managing EEE component tests, defining reliability targets, sample sizes, and stress conditions for internal or external test labs
Requirements include: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, materials science, or a related engineering field 5+ years of experience as a reliability, component, or electrical engineer 4+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: physics of failure, semiconductor physics, design for reliability, functional safety, or accelerated testing Experience in electrical design, including components, circuits, PCBs, or electronic assemblies Experience in reliability statistics and data analysis Strong analytical skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bonus requirements include: Experience performing failure analysis and destructive physical analysis investigations to provide corrective actions and paths to closure Familiarity with manufacturing processes and testing methodologies for electronic components Knowledge of accelerated test profiles for component-level screening and qualification testing
