Senior Software Engineer, Platform Network (Auth0)

Job Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Platform Network engineering team at Auth0 by Okta. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key engineering role in evolving our network architecture to meet the demands of enormous growth and support hundreds of millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Implement internal and edge networking infrastructure and design solutions that work at global scale and with multi-cloud and multi-region constraints.
• Carry cross-team initiatives from end to end: code reviews, design reviews, operational robustness, security hygiene, etc.
• Design and develop new services, tools, and automation to expose network functionality to other Okta engineering and operations teams.
• Research and implement solutions addressing cross-cutting concerns such as routing, failover, and scaling.
• Participate in the team's on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software development experience in cloud-native services.
• Demonstrable knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, TLS.
• DevOps experience using cloud-agnostic, cloud-native technologies.
• Experience managing infrastructure with Terraform.
• Experience contributing to Go-based services.
• Passion for working on global distributed systems that are highly reliable, maintainable, scalable, and secure.
• Tendency to deliver work incrementally to get feedback and iterate over solutions.
• Ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS or Azure and major content delivery networks.
• Experience implementing and scaling Service Mesh architectures.
• Knowledge of Istio/Envoy Proxy and the Kubernetes Gateway API.
• Experience designing and maintaining multi-cloud networking topologies and hybrid connectivity.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between $136,000-$187,000 CAD. Okta offers equity, bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave.
