Description

We are seeking an experienced Advisor Actuary to join our team in Cuauhtemoc, Mexico. As an Advisor Actuary, you will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and execution of technical actuarial calculations and models. Your primary focus will be on monitoring and controlling insurance portfolios under multiple regulatory frameworks, including Solvency II and IFRS 17, ensuring full compliance with HSBC's internal governance requirements and applicable local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Model Development: Build and improve models, including tools for validation, matrices, testing, and financial impact evaluation. Prepare and maintain documentation to ensure compliance with Governance of Models and Financial Policies.
  • Actuarial Assumptions: Generate, analyze, and continuously monitor actuarial assumptions.
  • Process Optimization: Optimize and improve processes to ensure the quality and integrity of information used in assumptions and models.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Explore databases to generate actuarial assumption analysis and track results over time.

Knowledge of the Function:

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science (Applied Mathematics).
  • Strong foundations in probability and statistical inference.
  • Model Validation: Backtesting, sensitivity, stability, metrics, calibration.
  • Handling Uncertainty: Confidence intervals, bootstrapping, simulation/Monte Carlo.
  • Advanced English (oral and written).
  • Highly analytical profile with a solid understanding and application of actuarial techniques.
  • Robust technical writing and reading comprehension to interpret regulations and specialized documentation.
  • Knowledge and ability to develop automations and programming in various tools/languages (Office, Visual Basic, SAS, R, Python, SQL).
  • Familiarity with actuarial software (Prophet) is desirable.
  • Commitment and responsibility in project execution and delivery.
  • Knowledge of life and non-life insurance, both short-term and long-term, as well as reinsurance.
