VCARB F1 Team - Surface Design Engineer

We are seeking a motivated Surface Design Engineer to join our team at Visa Cash App Racing Bulls F1 Team, one of two Red Bull-owned F1 teams. As a Surface Design Engineer, you will be responsible for generating aerodynamic surfaces required to support the aerodynamic development programme.

Responsibilities:

• Assess surface quality and legality of all group project surface files and provide feedback as required
• Develop time-saving efficiencies within the surface model structures
• Work with CAD specialists to develop software improvements, including macros, to increase efficiency in the surfacing and model design process
• Monitor and adjust project specifications to suit varying workload and deadlines
• Finalise files, including legality checks, of surface to be released to full-size production
• Maintain appropriate reference documentation
• Provide guidance and tuition to junior surface designers
• Execute day-to-day tasks, including keeping aero tracking systems up to date

Additionally, you will be expected to:

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the composite design team
• Act as a cross-functional point of contact for other relevant departments and engineering disciplines
• Work closely with the team to ensure alignment with project goals and deadlines
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the surface design team

Requirements:

• Strong degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar
• Solid foundation of engineering principles and the application of them to engineering problems
• Experience in CAD systems, preferably in Siemens NX
• Microsoft Office literacy
• Clear and concise communication
• Ability to plan and manage own workloads
