Description
As a Software Application Technical Manager in the automotive and mobility industry, you will lead the development and customization of test software and precision engineering applications, with a strong focus on innovation - particularly in data intelligence, virtualization, and methodologies.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of dedicated engineers, ensuring that our solutions are effectively tailored to meet the specific requirements of the automotive and industrial sectors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading discussions and alignment with customers on software development topics and requirements (RFI/RFQ)
- Supporting decision-making by balancing customer needs and internal capabilities
- Coordinating and aligning customer requirements with headquarters' solutions and strategies
- Driving requirement clarification, scope definition, and solution agreement
- Ensuring customer requirements are accurately reflected in the proposed solutions
Additionally, you will:
- Lead customer engagements, including technical and commercial discussions and negotiations
- Identify and pursue new opportunities through market and customer insights
- Manage assigned business models and develop new opportunities in collaboration with application engineers
As a multifunctional collaborator, you will:
- Coordinate internal and external communications, including emails and technical discussions
- Coach application engineers (AEs) to enhance their capabilities in line with market and customer requirements
- Prepare, review, and maintain technical documents (e.g., requirements, specifications, reports)
- Document meeting minutes, decisions, and action items, and track follow-ups
Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Software, or a related field)
- Prior engineering experience in automotive R&D is highly desirable
- Self-motivated, with a systematic and structured approach to operations
- A business development orientation combined with an innovative, analytical mindset
- Foundational knowledge of systems, products, and applications within the AVL portfolio
- Market understanding
- Proven ability to work in a structured manner, with exceptional interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Exceptional Written and Spoken English
