Product Regulatory Legal Counsel (EU)

We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to support Mistral AI's compliance and regulatory efforts. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal and regulatory compliance in the development and deployment of AI technologies. They will stay updated on the latest AI-related legal and regulatory developments, provide practical guidance to the organization on potential risks, solutions, and opportunities, and help draft terms and other contractual materials.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with engineering, science, and product teams to ensure legal and regulatory compliance in the development and deployment of AI technologies
• Collaborating with public affairs teams on regulatory efforts
• Staying updated on the latest AI-related legal and regulatory developments
• Providing training and support to the business on legal and compliance matters related to AI
• Helping draft terms and other contractual materials

Qualifications and skills include:

• A Master's degree in law, with a bar admission a plus
• 5 years of experience in a law firm or in a tech company, in IT law
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and its applications
• A solution-oriented approach, with the ability to identify compliance issues and develop effective strategies to address and resolve them
• Good project management skills
• Analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal and technical issues related to AI and identify potential legal risks and solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An international experience is a plus
