Description
We are looking for a Manager, Development Engineering Solutions to join our team. As a key member of our Advanced Development Unit, you will be responsible for creating proposals to achieve unit goals, identifying designer tools and processes that can be eliminated, simplified, and automated, and providing support and guidance to move activities forward.
Your primary focus will be on the design perspective for the innovation and advancement of tools and automation support. You will work closely with our Japan-led future vehicle development project to digitally innovate tools and methods.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 8+ years of relevant design and development experience. You should be creative, outside the box thinking, and not afraid to challenge the current accepted methods and processes.
As a leader, you will be responsible for managing the daily activities of Team members, prioritizing assignments, monitoring/evaluating work progress, providing mentoring/back-up as needed, addressing performance/associate relations issues, and managing activities including performance reviews, reviewing, and approving time sheets and time off requests.
You will also collaborate with our Department Lead to develop, plan, and implement strategic direction for the team, including defining department budget/staffing needs, selection, and assessment criteria, actively participating in the hiring process, and creating/maintaining operational policies/procedures.
In addition to your technical skills, you should have strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills, as well as the ability to troubleshoot complex problems in a team-based environment. You should also be skilled in data analysis and have the ability to appropriately manage confidential information.
